Will my new address book have all my contacts?

You actually have two separate address books, the shared district address book and your own personal address book. The district book is managed by the email post master and automatically lists all current district members. To access this address book simply open a new message by clicking the "Compose Mail" button, then click "choose from contacts". A new window will open listing district accounts. Your personal book is a place to save outside address's. You may access this book by clicking the "Contacts" button.

What are Groups and how do I use them?

Groups allow our users to form online communities built around shared interests. We will also use them as a means to send mail messages to large groups of people. Once you import the school Contacts List to your new E-mail account you will see several addresses for All Staff. These All Staff listings are actually links to various Groups which have been pre built. Many of you are already enrolled in one or more groups . More than just E-mail, these groups allow users to share files and collaborate. Mail sent to a group address is read by all members of the group. Replies to that Email can also be read by the group. Files shared at a group address are available for all group members to read and share. Learn More

Please note: Google Groups are not officially part of the Google for Education family. As such you will need to fill out a few fields to enable this separate account. You may do so by Clicking HERE  . Please enter your full email address and your newly created password when registering for groups.

Example: jcasavant@rssu.org instead of just jcasavant. After enabling your account you may register for one or more of our pre built Groups. Click Here for a full list. To register just click on the name of the group you wish to join then follow the simple instructions. When you reach the screen illustrated below you will see two options.

To see all the groups you are already enrolled in click "Sign in to Google Groups" To enroll in a new group click "Sign in and apply for membership"
