The Humane Society

The Shaw-Worth Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior who has made a meaningful contribution to animal protection over a significant period of time.  Information regarding application procedure is available in the guidance office.

Rutland South Rotary Club

One deserving student from Mill River Union High School will receive at a minimum of $1,500 and our other applicants will also be considered for an additional $1,000 award.  Awards are based on desire to further his/her education, community service, financial need and academics.  Applications are available in the guidance office.

Graduating seniors who live within the borders of Danby and Mt. Tabor and who graduated from the Currier Memorial School may apply.  Applications are available in the guidance office

Graduating seniors who plan to enroll in a “helping profession” such as but not limited to education, human services, medical field, etc. are eligible to apply.  Applications are in the guidance office.

The American Legion – Department of Vermont

This scholarship program has few restrictions.  Only two requirements:
1. Graduating high school seniors who will attend (and 2. must be accepted to) an accredited postsecondary school may apply.  Membership with the American Legion is NOT REQUIRED.

American Legion Auxiliary Past President’s Parley Nurses Scholarship

Applicants entering the field of nursing (RN or LPN) and whose parent, grandparent or great-grandparent is or was a veteran may apply.  Applications are available in the guidance office.

Paul P.Harris Memorial Rotary Scholarships

Annually the Wallingford Rotary Club awards scholarships to graduating MILL RIVER seniors who demonstrate scholastic achievement, leadership potential, initiative, and financial need.  Applications are available in the guidance office.

Christine Kelly Besaw Memorial Scholarship

High school graduating seniors who plan to attend a Christian college or Bible school are eligible to apply.  Preference will be given to currently enrolled Rutland Area Christian School and to former students of the school, but anyone meeting the criteria are encouraged to apply.  Applications are available in the guidance office

Jay Wilson Athletic Scholarship

Scholarships are awarded to graduating Mill River seniors who have demonstrated strong commitment to community and great character while representing MRU.  Applicants must be a contributing member of an athletic team through his/her senior year.  Essay required.  Applications are in the guidance office.

Sons of American Legion

Graduating seniors who plan to attend a trade or technical college and whose relative is a member of the American Legion Family may apply. Each area (North & South) will receive 2 awards.  Applications are available in the guidance office

American Legion Auxiliary Joyce Parker Scholarship

Applicant’s parent, grandparent or great-grandparent must have served in a branch of the U.S. military and you must be seeking a degree in the field of health. Applications are in the guidance office.

Vermont Golf Association

Applicants must be Vermont state residents, a graduating senior planning to attend college full-time, be in the 40% of their class or have a GPA of 3.0 or better and have a combined SAT score of 1500.  Criteria used for selection is based on financial need, academics and the applicant’s connection to the game of golf.  Applications are available in the guidance office.

Graduating Mill River seniors who have been accepted and plan to attend a 4-yr or 2-yr institution of higher learning are eligible to apply.

The Ralph E. Stafford and Irving Smith grant scholarships are awarded to students who will attend school beyond high school, reside in the town of Wallingford and demonstrate academic promise and financial need.  Applications are in the guidance office
